Review : Netflix for Nokia
Netflix is a popular movie service where users can create a list of movies they want to watch, which are then mailed one at a time. Netflix has also released some new enhancements to its service including the ability to stream movies online and watch them on a PC.I am not going to lie but after four years of being an avid user of Netflix, I cancelled my membership earlier this year. It was one of those decisions that I had to make since I wasn’t spending a lot of time at home and I also became a Boxee junkie so I figured I will break up with my Netflix. That decision only lasted about few months and as soon as the Netflix for Nokia app was released last month, I went right back and restored my account. Fortunately, this is a great app that helps you to view, update and add movies to your queue right from your phone.
Installation:
Netflix for Nokia is listed under the Entertainment category in the Ovi store and the download file is only 185MB. Once the application is downloaded, you will need to input your account credentials and it will then sync up with the Netflix servers and display your queue. The installation process was fairly quick and it took only few second to load my account. As expected the app performance is better while running on Wi-Fi compared to 3G.

Features:
This is a full blown Netflix app and you can pretty much do everything that you would from the website on your phone. Once inside your queue, a list of all your movies are shown and under each movie there are three options-Move to Top, More Details and Remove options. These options play a key role in allowing you to have a full control in managing your queue.
Another neat feature is the ability to search for movies and add them to your list. Every time you search and click on a movie title, a page with a general movie information and user reviews will show up and if you like you can add the movie to your list right from there. You can also watch movie previews on the same page.
I haven’t really played with the instant streaming option but I am assuming it does the same thing.

Conclusion:
If you are a Netflix user, then this app does not disappoint. Sure you can update you queue from your computer but when you are outside and you suddenly realize that you need to watch Blood Diamond or 300, you can immediately add and move it to top of your list.
It is also worth to note that some N97 users have reported issues with the application but so far, I’ve had no problem using it on 5800.
