Last week, the Pro Series Golf N-Gage game’s page went offline and the downloads were pulled up from the Showroom leaving all the PSG owners stranded in case they wanted to re-install the game. But golf fans need not worry, as N-Gage is all set to get treated to another round of Golfing action with EA Sports™ Tiger Woods PGA Tour.

On the 24th of August, Microsoft had announced a new software that allows “feature phones” to run popular mobile phone applications such as Facebook, Twitter, Windows Live Messenger and Mobile Wallet. It was named Microsoft OneApp. You can read the press release here.

Just yesterday, we tweeted about how long it had been since new content had been added to the Ovi Store. Seems like the Ovi Store guys heard us as a fresh lot of new items & updates were pushed to the store late yesterday night. Amongst the slew up new apps available at the store now is the official S60 version of the YouTube mobile app. Although the app had been available from the YouTube mobile site for a few countries, the store version seems to be available for even more countries.
This is an exciting news and something that I believe would be of interest to many of Symbian users. There has been a lot of buzz recently about Augmented Reality Apps. What is AR you ask? According to Wikipedia “AR is a term describing a live video stream of a real-world environment whose elements are supplemented with-, or augmented by Computer-generated imagery.“. There are currently several AR apps available in different platforms with Layar Reality Browser for Android being the most popular out there.
And now it appears that Sequence Point Software from Spain have developed a Free AR app “ARound” for some of the S60 3rd and 5th edition phones. According to their website the application needs certain sensory in order to work so not all Symbian devices are supported. We don’t know much about the app and its capabilities but it available for download from their website so head on over and lets us know what you think.
Music buffs rejoice. ShazamiD, the popular music discovery & recognition app is now available on the Ovi Store as Shazam with a 100 days of free usage as a part of the introductory promo.
According to the description on the store,
“Get Shazam on a free* to use basis until Nov.30. 2009. This promo is on a limited, first come first served basis, so get Shazam now to discover music for free.. At the end of the promo, to continue using Shazam you can download a new app and use Shazam Lite** with limited features and tagging for free; or pay once for unlimited tagging and full features.”
For some reason, I have not been able to download Shazam from the store website nor from the mobile client. If you are able to download and use it, please drop in a comment whether it is the same as ShazamiD or this is a different version for the store.

Netflix is a popular movie service where users can create a list of movies they want to watch, which are then mailed one at a time. Netflix has also released some new enhancements to its service including the ability to stream movies online and watch them on a PC.
I am not going to lie but after four years of being an avid user of Netflix, I cancelled my membership earlier this year. It was one of those decisions that I had to make since I wasn’t spending a lot of time at home and I also became a Boxee junkie so I figured I will break up with my Netflix. That decision only lasted about few months and as soon as the Netflix for Nokia app was released last month, I went right back and restored my account. Fortunately, this is a great app that helps you to view, update and add movies to your queue right from your phone.
Installation:
Netflix for Nokia is listed under the Entertainment category in the Ovi store and the download file is only 185MB. Once the application is downloaded, you will need to input your account credentials and it will then sync up with the Netflix servers and display your queue.
